The following is a poem I wrote describing 3 of my bird drawings, including 5 Chickadees, Pear Tree and 5 Fledglings.

My NAME IS BIRD

Calm and content

I spend my days

Gathering seed and flying wherever I please

No moment spent idle

Thru branches I tumble

Soaring on strong breezes

I balance on bricks or fences

In fields and cities

Mountainsides and forests

Decorating the landscape

My presence transforms frowns

My feathers light up dull moments

Eyes catch my wings

And land where I pause for a moment

My voice delights

Being first to greet them

Between states of dream and real

My song last to reach eardrums

Kissing worries goodbye

Binding minds to night’s possession

Waiting ‘til morning arrives

Until again my song cries

Greeting humans once more

I am bird
