'Flying High' is a metaphor drawing. The drawing teases the viewer by posing as one scene, but upon closer inspection one realizes the pictures is a twist on the usual.
I began the drawing intending to draw a lighthouse with the seagulls and - to add a bit of flair - some unusual clouds. As I progressed in the drawing, something was not right.
You probably at some point laid on your back or simply looked up into the sky. And as your imagination took over, clouds transformed into monsters, faces, dogs, cats and flying angels. Well, for me, my clouds turned into eggs.
There is always a point when the idea becomes even stronger than the drawing itself. In the case of 'Flying High,' eggs posing as clouds twist a good drawing into a memorable drawing, as well as encourage the mind to maintain a sense of wonder of the things that surround it each day.
