Onions is a drawing of three types of onions - yellow, white and purple. They lay on a colorful green patterned cloth. When I went to the grocery store to buy the onions to draw for this picture, I received several amused glances as I carefully went thru each barrel of onions trying to find just the right forms, colors and textures for the onions. The effort was worth it - when I set up this still-life in my studio, the sunlight hit the onions perfectly. The patterned tablecloth is a design I made up.
