Birds, especially falcons and hawks, strike a chord of fear in me. These birds have eyes that pierce you, and never seem to rest in their constant alertness for prey and to not be prey. And not only their eyes, but their feathers and wings are emblematic of power and freedom. When a bird soars, if one lets go, a person too can feel that freedom and power that these birds project. Ironically, falcons and hawks also seem to be reserved. In this portrait, I tried to capture that freedom, reserve and feeling of power.
